About

I’m Terry Atkinson from Cape Town Western Cape South Africa.

I have been involved with many charities over the years :

Tears

Which is an animal rescue society

Jones Safe house : a secluded home for abused mothers and children.

Pauline Loots Care Group: helping  the elderly with monthly groceries and uplifting them back into society

67 blankets for NELSON Mandela:  I am an ambassador and have participated in aiding and providing 1000s homeless and the less fortunate to receive blankets and scarves.

While running a small successful Wool Shop we also enabled prisoners and wardens to crochet and become part of the movement.

I am the mother of 2 young men and 2 fur kids.

One of my great passions is to travel and explore while enjoying photography. I have been privileged to have travelled Africa and abroad.

This is the beginning of my new adventure to travel SA and  bring joy, craftwork and skills to those that don’t have the means and to help uplift communities and families.

The skills I will provide with all be provided with fun and happiness : handcraft and gardening.

Crafts, creativity , to develop to their potential, education with reading and writing.

At the end of 2017 I made a decision. After saying goodbye to several close  friends to cancer, the stress of every day modern life, and a personal quest to find tranquility, I have decided to turn my passion for people into something more constructive and empowering. I sold all my worlds possessions ( except my home , to which I might one day return ) and bought a classic 1982 VW Autovilla from where I will be based.

My future endeavors :  Terry’s learning adventures (TLA)  will be. An exciting , new journey for myself in a personal capacity and for those I encounter along on my travels.
